Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality direct nursing care for oncology and post-surgical patients
- Assess and monitor patient status and intervene promptly to ensure safety and comfort
- Administer medications and therapies safely, documenting thoroughly in Cerner
- Support and educate patients and families about treatments, recovery, and self-care
- Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members
- Assist with unit procedures and respond effectively during patient emergencies
- Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring teammates and sharing best practices
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to practice in North Carolina or compact privileges)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, oncology or med-surg experience preferred
- Chemo certification is a plus and will make you stand out
- Experience with Cerner or similar EMR preferred
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and participating in weekend coverage
- Ability to manage typical oncology patient ratios (approximately 1:4 to 1:5)
Knowledge & Skills
- Oncology nursing fundamentals and med-surg care
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
- Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Safe medication and IV therapy administration practices
- Experience supporting procedures such as thoracentesis and echo monitoring
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced hospital unit
