Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead the Long-Term Care QAPI program to drive measurable quality improvements
- Plan, organize, and direct quality assurance activities across the facility
- Analyze clinical outcome data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Develop, implement, and monitor action plans to correct identified deficiencies
- Facilitate accreditation readiness and participate in regulatory surveys
- Organize and lead the quality committee, maintain minutes, and guide performance discussions
- Conduct chart audits, rounding, and infection control facilitation aligned with standards
- Perform root cause analyses and assist in investigations of incidents and complaints
- Collaborate with administrators, providers, and leaders to integrate quality and safety into daily operations
- Prepare written and oral reports and recommendations to leadership on QAPI efforts
Qualifications
- Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska (active prior to start or applied for if direct hire)
- CPHQ or QAPI Certified Professional (QCP) or other LTC Quality Certification obtained within the past 3 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience monitoring quality, regulatory requirements, and coordinating process changes
- Demonstrated leadership in facilitating cross-functional teams and driving collaborative improvement
- Comfortable with a role that requires a minimum of 30% travel
Education
- Registered Nursing education required (qualifications consistent with Alaska RN licensure)
Knowledge & Skills
- QAPI and Quality Improvement methodologies
- Regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness
- Infection control practices and facility safety standards
- Data analysis, chart review, and experience with chart audits
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and risk management processes
- Experience with incident reporting systems (e.g., Datix) and documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize, focus, and lead performance improvement initiatives
