Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver comprehensive med/surg care for adult patients while providing occasional pediatric support when needed
• Use the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with clinical confidence
• Collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Nursing Supervisor to ensure smooth shift operations
• Lead and support the care team to meet patients' physiological, psychosocial, spiritual, and developmental needs
• Provide safe inpatient, outpatient, observation, and swing bed care with clear clinical decision making
• Document care accurately in the unit charting system and communicate effectively across disciplines
• Promote patient and family education, discharge planning, and care coordination for seamless transitions

Qualifications

• Active Vermont RN license or multi-state RN license required prior to start
• BLS (American Heart Association) required before start
• ACLS certification required before start
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience, Med/Surg experience preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech is preferred and will help you hit the ground running
• Ability to start on 2026-03-25 and upload all credentials at least five business days before start
• Willingness to care for occasional pediatric patients; do not submit pediatric-only RNs

Education

• Active RN licensure (Vermont RN or multi-state RN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med/surg nursing skills and acute care clinical judgment
• Experienced with inpatient and outpatient workflows including observation and swing bed care
• Comfortable using electronic health records (Meditech preferred)
• Excellent team collaboration, leadership, and patient coordination abilities
• Skilled in comprehensive assessment, nursing process, and prioritized clinical decision making
• Ability to provide compassionate, holistic care across the lifespan
