Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and psychological assessments to inform individualized care
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the care team
- Provide individual and group therapy using appropriate modalities for psychiatric populations
- Perform risk assessments and provide timely crisis intervention when needed
- Document clinical findings and treatment progress accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other team members to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in case conferences and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in psychology or psychiatric settings
- Licensed Psychologist in Tennessee or eligibility for Tennessee licensure (state licensure required)
- Experience working with psychiatric populations and conducting diagnostic assessments
- Strong clinical skills in psychotherapy and crisis management
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Current malpractice coverage or ability to obtain coverage as required by facility
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred or equivalent clinical training
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in psychiatric assessment, mental status exams, and diagnostic formulation
- Experience with evidence-based therapies (for example CBT, DBT, or other relevant modalities)
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
- Strong risk assessment and suicide prevention skills
- Ability to collaborate with medical and behavioral health professionals
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality best practices
