Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care in the outpatient clinic, collaborating closely with providers and clinic staff
- Lead and direct clinic staff to ensure efficient daily operations including front desk and patient care workflows
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and complete nursing duties professionally and in a timely manner
- Manage medication inventory and clinic supplies not on the warehouse PAR system
- Perform and oversee point-of-care testing and ensure required quality control checks are completed
- Open and close provider clinics and assist providers by anticipating needs for efficient patient care
- Promote infection control and a clean, safe working environment and report equipment or safety concerns
- Communicate effectively with other departments to be a resource for patients and clinic teams
Qualifications
- Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date; agency staff must have an active Alaska license)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Clinical Competency (SEARHC) to be completed within 3 months of hire and every three years
- High Risk Competency (SEARHC) to be completed within 3 months of hire and annually
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of acute care experience preferred
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and meet the physical demands of the role
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Registered Nurse license (Alaska or other U.S. state) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding and application of the nursing process in outpatient settings
- Experience with assessments, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
- Infection control and patient safety principles
- Medication inventory management and clinic supply oversight
- Comfortable using EHRs, computers, and common medical equipment
- Strong oral and written communication, multitasking, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking in fast-paced clinical environments
- Customer service focus and ability to build positive relationships with patients and staff
