Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support patient mobility and transfers safely, including turning, repositioning, and ambulating
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
• Provide basic patient care like feeding assistance and maintaining hygiene to promote comfort
• Observe patients closely and report any changes in condition to the registered nurse or supervising staff
• Maintain clean and safe patient environments, including changing linens and organizing rooms
• Assist with transporting patients to tests, procedures, or other units professionally and courteously
• Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times to protect patients and staff
• Document patient care activities accurately according to facility guidelines

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state of California (required)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent CNA experience preferred for travel assignments
• Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicating clearly with nurses and clinicians
• Willingness to follow facility policies, infection control standards, and documentation requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Proficient in measuring and recording vital signs accurately
• Knowledgeable about safe patient handling, transfers, and mobility assistance
• Strong infection control and patient safety practices
• Able to provide compassionate basic care including feeding and hygiene support
• Good observation skills for identifying changes in patient condition
• Clear documentation and basic clinical charting abilities
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
