Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to pulmonary clinic patients following established standards and best practices
• Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic and treatment procedures to ensure smooth clinic flow
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care accurately
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, medications, and self-care plans
• Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations and escalate as appropriate
• Participate actively in the healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation and apply basic ICD-10/CPT coding knowledge when needed
• Support clinic operations including triage, patient intake, and clinic procedure setup

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license — required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association standards) — required and maintained every two years
• One year of nursing experience preferred (clinic or ambulatory care experience a plus)
• Comfortable administering a variety of medications and using common exam/treatment equipment
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and providers
• Ability to travel to other clinic offices as needed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and assessment in an ambulatory clinic setting
• Medication administration and monitoring for effects
• Patient education principles and clear teaching skills
• Clinical documentation and charting accuracy
• Emergency response and calm decision-making under pressure
• Examination and treatment procedures commonly used in pulmonary clinics
• Medical terminology fluency
• Basic familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines
• Office procedures and clinic workflow
