Shift Type: Monday-Friday with evening coverage for events; PRN as-needed for additional event coverage; occasional weekend and holiday event coverage (evening/event hours)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide on-site medical care for athletes at contracted high school events and after-school activities
- Prevent, evaluate, and manage athletic injuries through history-taking, physical evaluation, diagnosis, and individualized care plans
- Manage concussion care: assess symptoms, monitor recovery, and supervise safe return-to-play progressions
- Document evaluations and treatments accurately and timely to support continuity of care
- Perform occupational health and rehab services including post-offer employment tests and job-specific conditioning programs
- Coordinate schedules and coverage for events to ensure continuous athletic health support
- Serve as a physician-extender in the orthopedic clinic: take histories, assist with scheduling surgeries, and educate patients
- Analyze injury root causes and recommend prevention strategies to reduce future incidents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology (required)
- 1+ years of related work experience
- Current Athletic Trainer license for the state of Wisconsin (must hold and maintain)
- Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Valid, current driver's license
- Intermediate to expert computer proficiency and strong documentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication, compassion, and problem-solving abilities
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology
Knowledge & Skills
- Musculoskeletal examination and injury assessment
- Concussion evaluation and return-to-play management
- Injury prevention strategies and rehabilitation planning
- Emergency care and on-field/athletic event medical response
- Occupational health assessments, post-offer testing, and functional progress evaluations
- Experience functioning as a physician-extender in an orthopedic clinic
- Patient education, scheduling coordination, and accurate documentation
