Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to an assigned population within a correctional healthcare setting
• Perform timely assessments, administer medications and treatments according to protocols
• Accurately document patient encounters, observations and care plans in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and security teams to ensure safe, effective care and adherence to facility policies
• Monitor patient status and escalate changes in condition to appropriate clinical staff
• Participate actively in orientation, training, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) credential — required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
• Experience or interest in medical nursing; correctional healthcare experience is a plus
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility clearances
• Strong time management, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

• Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program (LVN certificate/diploma)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and charting best practices
• Clinical assessment and monitoring techniques
• Familiarity with infection control and correctional facility safety protocols
• Clear, professional documentation and electronic medical record use
• Comfortable working within interdisciplinary teams and following established procedures
