Shift Type: Night, 4x12-hour nights per week (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), every other weekend required; 36 or 48 hour options accepted
Hours per Week: 48
Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert telemetry nursing care for adults with orthopedic and neuro trauma diagnoses
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias promptly and safely
- Administer and manage IV therapies including heparin drips, PCA, and blood products
- Perform central and peripheral line care, PICC management, and IV starts with confidence
- Manage airway needs including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway support, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Care for chest tubes, surgical drains, wound care, colostomy and feeding tubes
- Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate using SBAR for safe handoffs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, PT, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Float to similar units as needed and support inpatient holding during high census
- Participate in hospital emergency response plans, including storm/hurricane teams when required
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state licensure required and must be current)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in the last 5 years (hard stop)
- BLS required prior to start
- ACLS and dysrhythmia interpretation preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty
- Comfortable with telemetry/med-surg and ortho/neuro trauma patient populations
- Able to work night shifts and every other weekend as scheduled
- Traveler-friendly: first-time travelers accepted; local nurses are also welcome
Knowledge & Skills
- Epic documentation experience (required)
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral and central line management
- Management of heparin drips, PCA, and other continuous infusions
- Tracheostomy and non-invasive airway management
- Chest tube (Emerson/Pleuravac) care and surgical drain management
- Wound care, colostomy and feeding tube management
- Isolation precautions, PPE, and infection control practices
- Ability to respond to rapid response and emergent cardiac events
- Comfort with floating to similar units and working collaboratively
