Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care clearly
• Perform routine assessments, monitor patient status, and report changes promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Maintain safety and security protocols while delivering patient-centered care
• Participate in the two-week orientation and ongoing training to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Active California LVN license (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
• Comfortable and professional working in a correctional facility environment
• Ability to work the assigned Saturday-Wednesday schedule, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Willingness to complete a two-week orientation and required facility onboarding
• Clean background check and ability to meet facility security requirements

Education

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing program and LVN diploma

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and basic nursing assessment skills
• Clear and timely clinical documentation and charting practices
• Infection control, wound care basics, and vital sign monitoring
• Good communication skills for interacting with patients and care teams
• Ability to follow protocols, maintain safety, and work within structured environments
