Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive appropriate feeding support
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and communicate clearly with the team
- Help create a warm, respectful environment that protects dignity and promotes independence
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
- Active listing on the New Mexico nurse aide registry (or ability to obtain)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work overnight shifts
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and families
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
- Knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
- Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
- Respectful, patient-centered communication and teamwork
