Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to promote dignity and independence
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
- Take and record vital signs, intake/output, and other routine measurements accurately
- Support safe transfers and use patient handling equipment properly to prevent injury
- Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable environments for residents
- Document care and communicate clearly with team members and families
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Completion of a state-approved CNA program
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
- Comfort working overnight/night shifts and in long-term care settings
- Strong communication skills and a caring, empathetic approach
Education
- Completion of a state-approved CNA program; High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and safe transfer techniques
- Measuring and recording vital signs accurately
- Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
- Familiarity with charting and basic electronic medical record entry
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Teamwork and positive communication with nursing staff and families
