Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting in a compassionate, respectful way
- Provide safe transfer and mobility assistance, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and changes in condition accurately and promptly
- Support meal service and feeding assistance while encouraging independence and dignity
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate clearly with nursing staff and families to ensure coordinated, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New Mexico preferred or eligible to obtain)
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but not required
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to work overnight shifts as needed
Education
- High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong hands-on patient care skills and comfort assisting with ADLs
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Good communication and teamwork in a clinical setting
- Understanding of infection control, resident rights, and HIPAA confidentiality
- Ability to follow care plans and report changes in resident condition
