Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient records
- Follow infection control practices and facility safety protocols at all times
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — state-specific credential required or eligible
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) is required
- Comfort and experience working overnight shifts and providing direct resident care
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and resident care best practices
- Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Ability to assist with ADLs and safely transfer residents
- Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and patient privacy
- Good charting and documentation skills; ability to learn electronic health records
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
