Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition promptly
- Assist nursing team with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility support
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
- Support infection control practices and adhere to facility safety protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families by offering respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New Mexico) required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or must be obtained upon hire if required by facility
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-focused care
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a care team
- Must meet facility onboarding requirements (background check, immunizations, TB screening)
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfers and mobility support
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
- Familiarity with accurate charting and documentation
- Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, professional bedside manner
