Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately, communicating changes to the nursing team
• Support mobility and safe transfers while promoting resident independence
• Maintain clear, timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Assist with meal service and feeding needs, respecting residents’ preferences
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Active registration on the appropriate state CNA registry (New Mexico preferred)
• Comfortable working night shifts and following facility policies and procedures
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completed CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on resident care and safe transfer techniques
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, observations, and accurate charting
• Infection control practices and adherence to safety protocols
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
• Teamwork and clear communication with nurses, therapists, and family members
