Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor residents’ condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to promote mobility
- Perform routine observations such as vital signs and intake/output recording
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in resident charts
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with the care team to help deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
- State CNA registration or license as required (ensure compliance with New Mexico regulations)
- Comfortable working overnight hours and providing hands-on patient care
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident dignity and safety
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
- Able to follow care plans and report observations clearly
- Good interpersonal skills and compassionate patient interaction
- Basic charting and electronic documentation comfort
