Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in residents’ condition accurately
• Support mobility and transfers safely while using proper body mechanics
• Document care and observations clearly in the resident chart to support the care team
• Communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members about resident needs
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Participate in infection control practices and follow facility policies to protect residents

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Valid CNA license in the state of New Mexico or ability to obtain state certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfort working overnight hours and adapting to per diem scheduling
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• Completion of an accredited CNA training program; High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Comfortable taking and charting vital signs and reporting changes
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
• Good observational skills and attention to detail when documenting resident status
• Ability to follow care plans and directions from nursing staff
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
