Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that preserves dignity and comfort
- Support feeding and hydration needs, including safe transfers and positioning
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in residents' records and communicate with the care team
- Adhere to infection control practices and facility policies to keep everyone safe
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Prior long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus but enthusiastic new CNAs are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical knowledge of ADLs and resident hygiene needs
- Ability to take and accurately chart vital signs
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
- Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Basic charting and documentation skills
