Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and support to residents, making each day more comfortable
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the care team
• Support safe transfers and mobility while promoting patient independence
• Document resident care thoroughly and timely in the facility charting system
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
• Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Active New Mexico CNA license or eligibility to obtain state registration
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care tasks
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Previous long-term care or facility experience preferred but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of patient care and resident safety
• Vital sign measurement and basic clinical observation
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and documentation practices
• Infection prevention and control practices
• Compassionate communication with residents and families
