Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living — personal care, bathing, dressing, and toileting with kindness and dignity
- Provide safe and attentive bedside care during overnight hours, monitoring comfort and safety
- Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff promptly and accurately
- Document care provided clearly and timely to maintain excellent continuity of care
- Support mealtime and mobility needs, including safe transfers and positioning
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents and staff safe
- Work collaboratively with the care team to deliver person-centered care that respects each resident’s preferences
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — New Mexico preferred or eligibility to obtain
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable with overnight nursing responsibilities and working independently during NOC shifts
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements (immunizations, TB screening, etc.)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and ADL assistance
- Vital signs monitoring and reporting
- Safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Infection prevention and hand hygiene best practices
- Accurate documentation and charting
- Effective communication with residents, families, and care teams
- Time management and ability to prioritize during busy shifts
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to resident dignity
