Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and respect
• Provide safe, compassionate bedside care and mobility assistance
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics every time
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Follow infection control protocols to keep patients and coworkers safe
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
• Active state registry or license to practice as a CNA in New Mexico (or eligible to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working night shifts and flexible per diem schedules
• Clear background check and TB screening per facility requirements
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling
• Ability to take and document accurate vital signs
• Knowledge of basic infection prevention and patient safety practices
• Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn EMR systems
• Strong observation skills and ability to communicate changes to nursing staff
• Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical setting
