Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Support mobility, transfers, and range-of-motion activities to promote independence
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
- Follow infection prevention protocols and maintain a safe, clean environment
- Build positive relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- CPR/BLS certification required or obtainable upon hire
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and standing for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; dependable and compassionate
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living assistance
- Basic vital signs measurement and patient observation skills
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
- Ability to work effectively on a care team and communicate needs clearly
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
