Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care: assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support patient comfort and safety through attentive observation and timely interventions
• Assist with feeding and nutritional needs while encouraging independence
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Adhere to infection control standards and promote a clean, safe environment

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification recognized in New Mexico (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before start)
• Ability to pass background check and provide required immunizations
• Comfortable working overnight/evening hours and supporting shift continuity
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental patient care skills and safe transfer/mobility techniques
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE usage
• Observational skills to notice changes in patient condition
• Team collaboration and clear communication with clinical staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
