Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document patient status, including intake/output and behavior changes
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to promote comfort and mobility
• Observe and report changes to the nursing team to ensure timely interventions
• Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment for residents and visitors
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Support meal assistance, hygiene care, and routine bedside tasks with dignity

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Valid state authorization to practice or ability to obtain required New Mexico credentials
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working night shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of resident care and activities of daily living
• Basic infection control and safe patient handling practices
• Accurate documentation and charting skills
• Ability to observe, record, and report changes in condition
• Teamwork, time management, and respectful communication
• Empathy, patience, and a calm approach in stressful situations
