Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living with dignity and respect.
- Monitor resident condition and report any changes to the nursing team promptly to ensure safe, timely interventions.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility support while promoting independence.
- Take and record vital signs and other routine observations accurately and consistently.
- Collaborate with nurses and facility staff to deliver coordinated, person-centered care.
- Document care thoroughly and timely to maintain high standards of communication and continuity.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and facility policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required.
- Valid state authorization to practice as a CNA in New Mexico.
- Comfortable working overnight/evening shifts and adapting to schedule changes.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude — you’ll be part of a close-knit care team.
- Dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused with a commitment to resident dignity.
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and assistance with ADLs in a long-term/post-acute setting.
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills.
- Good documentation habits and familiarity with care charts or electronic records.
- Infection control awareness and adherence to facility protocols.
- Effective communication and teamwork to support resident outcomes.
