Shift Type: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), typically three nights per week with every-other-weekend coverage; schedule created by Nursing Management, floating to sister ICCU as needed (Night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias, intervening rapidly to keep patients safe
- Titrate and manage vasoactive/pressor drips according to protocol for unstable hemodynamics
- Care for arterial lines, central lines, PICCs and perform IV starts with precision
- Manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, BIPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula therapies
- Administer blood products and follow IV insulin and heparin protocols safely
- Respond as an active member of the Rapid Response/Code teams when emergencies arise
- Provide thorough, timely documentation in Epic and use Pyxis for medication dispensing
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, Pharmacy, PT, Social Work) to optimize patient outcomes
- Support unit throughput by recognizing escalation needs and coordinating transfers to ICU when indicated
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience, stepdown/PCU or ICU/telemetry strongly preferred
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications; NIH/NIHSS certification required or obtained prior to start
- Demonstrated experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips
- Comfortable with chest tube and tracheostomy care, HFNC and non-invasive ventilation management
- Ability to perform reliable IV starts and blood product administration
- Proven competency with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
- Willingness to complete hospital orientation week and pass required EKG testing prior to start
- Able to work night shifts, every-other-weekend rotation, and float to sister ICCU when needed
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; nursing degree or diploma (Associate or Bachelor) as applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Vasoactive/pressor titration and hemodynamic assessment
- Arterial line, central line and PICC care
- Chest tube and tracheostomy management
- BIPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula experience
- IV starts, IV insulin and heparin protocols, blood product administration
- Epic charting and Pyxis medication workflows
- Rapid Response/Code team participation and emergency response skills
- Infection control and isolation precautions with appropriate PPE use
