Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff to ensure timely care
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Support meal service and assist residents with eating as needed, respecting dietary guidelines
• Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and resident observations
• Help create a welcoming, respectful environment that promotes resident dignity and independence
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans and comfort measures

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — Class: CNA
• Valid state certification or eligibility to be certified in New Mexico
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and supporting residents with varying needs
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
• Proof of required immunizations and successful completion of facility onboarding

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on resident care skills and familiarity with ADLs (activities of daily living)
• Ability to observe, document, and communicate changes in resident status
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic infection control practices and adherence to facility protocols
• Teamwork mindset and the ability to follow direction from licensed nursing staff
• Time management skills to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
