Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care tailored to each resident's needs
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Observe, record, and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Support mobility and transfer assistance while following safety protocols
- Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident environments
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff
- Follow infection control practices and facility policies at all times
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — required
- Active state CNA license/registration as applicable in New Mexico
- Comfortable working evening and overnight shifts (5:00 PM - 5:30 AM)
- Ability to lift and assist residents as needed and follow safe patient handling practices
- Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented attitude
- Previous long-term care or nursing home experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fundamentals in resident care and ADLs
- Basic infection control and safety practices
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Accurate documentation and attention to detail
- Teamwork and flexibility in a dynamic care environment
