Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with mobility and safe transfers while promoting independence and dignity
- Measure and record vital signs and report clinical changes promptly
- Support mealtime and feeding needs while monitoring dietary concerns
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with nursing staff
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
- Offer emotional support and companionship to residents, making each day better
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Active or eligible for registration/certification in New Mexico preferred
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
- Ability to perform physical tasks typical of resident care (lifting/assisting as needed)
- Willingness to follow facility policies, documentation standards, and safety protocols
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care best practices
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Good documentation skills and attention to detail
- Effective teamwork and communication with clinical staff
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
