Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and document vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support resident mobility, transfers and safe use of assistive devices
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention practices
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families and the care team
- Accurately document care and observations in resident records
- Assist with mealtime needs and ensure residents’ dignity and comfort at all times
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New Mexico or transferable)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Comfortable working evenings and overnight shifts on a per diem basis
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and ADL assistance
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Infection control and safe patient handling
- Clear communication and teamwork in a clinical environment
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
