Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming resident environments
• Document care and observations accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in New Mexico (required)
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience as a CNA or in long-term care is a plus but new grads welcome
• Ability to pass facility-required background and health screenings
• Compassionate demeanor, strong patient-focused communication, and reliability

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic resident care and infection control practices
• Comfortable with ADLs, transfers, and safe lifting techniques
• Good observational skills and ability to report changes clearly to nursing staff
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well on a team
• Basic charting and documentation proficiency
