Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients on the medical unit
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, communicating changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and follow-up needs
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic record

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in California (required)
• Minimum clinical experience in a medical/surgical setting preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred or encouraged
• Demonstrated ability to work a full-time evening schedule (Tue–Sat) and commit to the assignment duration
• Strong attendance and reliability — this role requires consistent coverage

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid assessment skills and the ability to prioritize patient needs
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Proficient clinical documentation and charting
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
• Ability to handle behavioral and security-aware situations with professionalism
