Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients on the medical unit
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, communicating changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and follow-up needs
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic record
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse license in California (required)
- Minimum clinical experience in a medical/surgical setting preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred or encouraged
- Demonstrated ability to work a full-time evening schedule (Tue–Sat) and commit to the assignment duration
- Strong attendance and reliability — this role requires consistent coverage
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid assessment skills and the ability to prioritize patient needs
- Medication administration and IV therapy competency
- Proficient clinical documentation and charting
- Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
- Ability to handle behavioral and security-aware situations with professionalism
