Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff
- Support safe mobility and assist with transfers using proper body mechanics
- Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for each resident
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the care team
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families
- Observe for changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — valid and in good standing
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Comfort working overnight hours and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach to care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing care and resident assistance
- Vital sign measurement and documentation
- Infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
- Basic lifting/transferring techniques and fall prevention awareness
- Electronic or paper charting and clear verbal reporting
