Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning
- Take and record vital signs and observe changes in patient condition
- Support nursing staff with timely, accurate documentation and handoffs
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control practices
- Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and the care team
- Respond to patient needs and call lights with professionalism and empathy
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and flexible per-diem assignments
- Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Ability to follow care plans, document accurately, and work collaboratively
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills and knowledge of ADLs
- Reliable vital-signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Infection prevention and safe body mechanics for transfers
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
- Basic charting and documentation practices
