Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care and assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes promptly to the nursing team to ensure timely interventions
• Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, documenting care, and assisting with feeding as needed
• Support a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents while following facility policies
• Build warm, respectful relationships with residents and their families to promote dignity and trust
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity of care during shift handovers

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Valid CNA license in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain state certification
• Comfortable working a 12+ hour overnight shift (5:00 PM - 5:30 AM)
• Reliable, empathetic, and able to communicate clearly with residents and the care team
• Willingness to pass required background and health screenings per facility policy
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus but not mandatory

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and possession of active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of resident care principles and safe patient handling
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail for accurate charting
• Ability to follow care plans, infection control practices, and facility protocols
• Good interpersonal skills and a calm, patient-centered approach
• Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, observing and reporting changes
