Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care and assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and patient positioning, using proper lift techniques
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in resident charts and care plans
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect residents and staff
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to support person-centered care
• Contribute to a positive, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico (required)
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by the facility
• Current immunizations per facility policy (e.g., TB, flu) as applicable
• Good communication skills, strong teamwork, and a caring attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing procedures
• Skill with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong observation skills and ability to report changes accurately
• Understanding of infection control practices and PPE use
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
