Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents with dignity and respect
• Assist with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and observe changes in condition, reporting concerns promptly
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding as needed while respecting dietary plans
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and follow infection-control practices
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through clear, respectful communication
• Collaborate with nursing staff to implement care plans and support therapy goals

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (state nursing assistant credential) required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Previous experience caring for older adults preferred; new grads with strong compassion welcome
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required immunizations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a collaborative care team
• Reliable attendance and a professional, patient-focused attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA / State Nursing Assistant certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and safe transfer techniques
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and observing clinical changes
• Knowledge of infection prevention, resident rights, and privacy practices
• Good charting and basic documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills — patience, empathy, and clear communication with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
