Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Shift Type: Evening shift (Shift 2), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM — schedule varies by facility and may include weekdays and weekends
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, dignified care to geriatric residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing and mobility to promote independence
- Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
- Accurately document care, vital signs and behaviors in the resident chart
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure dietary needs are met
- Help maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and families to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Background check and applicable health screenings (TB, immunizations) required
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and hands-on resident care
- Reliable availability for the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM evening shift
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA training program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of basic geriatric care and ADLs
- Good communication skills with residents, families and teammates
- Basic vital signs measurement and reporting
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
- Compassion, patience and the ability to work in a team-driven environment
