Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to elderly residents, supporting activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, and meal assistance with dignity
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate observations to nursing staff
- Document care and resident responses accurately and timely
- Support a safe, clean, and respectful living environment for residents
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required)
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfort working with geriatric residents and assisting with ADLs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; compassionate bedside manner
- Background check and required immunizations/compliance per facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
- Basic vital signs and documentation skills
- Ability to follow care plans and nursing directions
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills
