Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (night shift), schedule varies and includes weekends; 36 or 48 hours guaranteed; block scheduling not approved

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to adolescents using the nursing process to manage complex mental health needs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to identify individual and group treatment needs and implement interventions
- Supervise and mentor Mental Health Workers to ensure safe and therapeutic delivery of care
- Lead and participate in group and individual therapeutic interventions focused on recovery and stabilization
- Manage medication administration and support medication-assisted withdrawal and stabilization safely
- Maintain a safe therapeutic milieu, applying de-escalation techniques and safety protocols
- Document clinical care, progress, and supervisory activities thoroughly and accurately
- Float to other units and step into charge shifts as needed to support unit operations
Qualifications
- Active Vermont RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
- American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience; inpatient psychiatric experience required and must include adolescent experience within the last 3 months (LTC not accepted)
- Adolescent psych/behavioral health experience with specific age groups listed on your resume
- Willingness to float to other units and take charge shifts
- Two supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment required
- Resume with psych experience and all age groups listed, plus psych skills checklist from the last year
- Driver's license or candidate address required in submission packet (residence within 35 miles affects local policy)
- Must be able to start on 02/02/2026 with no exceptions
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in the nursing process and clinical decision-making for psychiatric populations
- Experience with adolescent behavioral health and group/individual therapeutic interventions
- Medication management including medication-assisted withdrawal and stabilization
- Ability to maintain safety and a therapeutic milieu, including de-escalation and crisis intervention
- Experience supervising clinical staff and providing clinical oversight
- Comfort working with co-occurring disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety
- Adaptability to float across units and assume charge responsibilities
