Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate GE 64-slice CT scanner to acquire high-quality diagnostic images for trauma, stroke, and general CT exams
- Prepare patients for scans with compassion, ensuring patient comfort and clear communication throughout the procedure
- Coordinate IV contrast administration with nursing teams and manage contrast procedures per protocol
- Utilize Epic EMR and Fuji Synapse PACS to document studies, track patient data, and deliver images to radiologists promptly
- Apply radiation safety principles and quality control measures to protect patients and staff
- Work collaboratively with the radiology team and on-call staff to ensure 24/7 CT coverage without missed studies
- Participate in department orientation and follow hospital onboarding requirements to ensure a smooth start
Qualifications
- ARRT (CT) certification required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Valid Kansas radiologic technologist license required
- Minimum of 1 year of CT experience (experience with trauma and stroke imaging preferred)
- Familiarity with GE 64-slice CT scanners
- Comfortable working overnight weekend shifts and holidays
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging protocols and cross-sectional anatomy
- Proficiency with Epic EMR and Fuji Synapse PACS workflows
- Competence in IV contrast handling and safety protocols (coordination with nursing for IV starts)
- Excellent patient care and communication skills, especially with acute and trauma patients
- Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Attention to image quality, radiation safety, and documentation standards
