Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Provide compassionate hands-on care and emotional support to older adults, building meaningful connections
• Monitor resident well-being and promptly report any changes to the nursing team
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper techniques to protect residents and yourself
• Document care and observations accurately to keep the care team informed and ensure continuity
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Certified GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable working with the geriatric population and able to provide compassionate care
• Reliable transportation to Silver Spring, MD and the ability to meet scheduled shifts
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited GNA certification program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and the unique needs of older adults
• Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, observing and reporting changes
• Safe resident transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Teamwork, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with infection control and basic safety protocols
