Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures while assisting residents
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Work collaboratively with the care team to implement individualized care plans
• Promote a calm, respectful environment and engage residents in meaningful interactions

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated experience caring for older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Successful background check and any state-required clearances
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance for assigned shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA (nursing assistant) program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with geriatric care and sensitivity to age-related needs
• Strong basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfers
• Clear verbal and written communication with residents and team members
• Familiarity with infection control practices and documentation standards
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care environment
• Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude toward resident-centered care
