Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures while assisting residents
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
- Work collaboratively with the care team to implement individualized care plans
- Promote a calm, respectful environment and engage residents in meaningful interactions
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated experience caring for older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
- Successful background check and any state-required clearances
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance for assigned shifts
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an accredited GNA (nursing assistant) program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with geriatric care and sensitivity to age-related needs
- Strong basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfers
- Clear verbal and written communication with residents and team members
- Familiarity with infection control practices and documentation standards
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care environment
- Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude toward resident-centered care
