Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, and mobility
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to nursing staff
• Support social and emotional needs by engaging residents in conversation and activities
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility procedures to protect residents and staff
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care plans

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Completion of a certified GNA program or equivalent training
• Current CPR/BLS preferred or obtain upon hire
• Background check and required health screenings (e.g., TB test, immunizations)
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude toward older adults

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a GNA training program and active GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and needs
• Safe resident transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Basic infection control and medication awareness
• Reliable time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Teamwork and clear communication with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
