Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess emergency patients using sound clinical judgment and prioritize care needs
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and in line with standards
• Document patient status and interventions clearly and accurately to support continuity of care
• Develop and execute individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate timely, efficient patient care
• Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance to enhance care quality
• Use critical thinking to identify safety concerns and escalate care through the appropriate chain of command
• Provide clinical guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal care

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• TNCC or TNS required (one of the two)
• Up-to-date flu vaccination required
• Previous Emergency Room nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable working nights and able to float between ED locations within Janesville

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and triage skills in a fast-paced ED environment
• Medication administration and familiarity with ED protocols
• Clear, timely documentation and care planning
• Excellent interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making under pressure
• Ability to escalate concerns appropriately to ensure patient safety
• Engagement in shared governance and unit-based performance improvement
