Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive infection prevention program that keeps residents safe
• Lead surveillance efforts using NHSN or McGeer criteria to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Design and deliver timely infection prevention education and competency checks for staff and stakeholders
• Manage outbreak response and communicable disease reporting in collaboration with public health partners
• Oversee the facility Antibiotic Stewardship Program to ensure appropriate antibiotic use and compliance
• Coordinate annual infection control risk assessments and report findings to the QAPI committee
• Perform environmental rounding to assess infection control practices across maintenance, food services, housekeeping, and clinical areas
• Serve as a trusted resource for leadership, staff, residents, families, and the community on infection control topics

Qualifications

• Current, active RN or LPN license (required)
• Demonstrated experience or strong knowledge in infection surveillance and prevention practices
• Familiarity with NHSN reporting and McGeer criteria for case identification
• Experience with employee and resident infection control education and competency assessment
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements at local, state, and federal levels
• Ability to participate in QAPI and interdisciplinary performance improvement activities
• Comfortable conducting environmental rounding and collaborating with facility leadership

Education

• Current RN or LPN license (required)
