Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts while encouraging independence
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Accurately document care and observations in the patient record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver personalized care plans
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current state Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or Nursing Assistant certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification (current) preferred or required per facility policy
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, compassionate approach
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common chronic conditions
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety standards
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, assisting with ADLs, safe transfer techniques
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
