Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility support and fall prevention measures
- Help maintain a clean, comfortable and dignified environment for residents
- Document care activities accurately and communicate clearly with the care team
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification or state equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and supporting daily living needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a care team
- Background check and any required state clearances as per facility policy
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification (or state-recognized nursing assistant credential)
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical care and resident assistance techniques
- Understanding of infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Ability to follow care plans and accept direction from nursing staff
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Compassion, patience and strong interpersonal skills
